LeBron James’ awesome reaction to meeting Michael Jordan for the first time in his life.
Meeting Michael Jordan is a dream come true for any athlete who wants to play in the NBA one day, even if that athlete is someone named LeBron James.
LeBron James and Michael Jordan’s names are usually interlinked with each other due to the GOAT debate. But that doesn’t mean the former doesn’t respect the latter. If anything, LeBron was awestruck when he met Jordan for the first time in his life.
“I loved Michael Jordan. The way that he approached the game, the way that he led his troops when he went out on the court, and his never say die attitude, man, was something I always looked up to.”
James didn’t stop there, he continued and shared his reaction to seeing his idol for the first time in his life.
“So I’m growing up watching this guy on TV every day and I’m like, ‘Wow, he’s an amazing basketball player, hopefully someday I get an opportunity to meet him.’ I think it was my junior year in high school. I go up to Chicago, and I go to a gym called Hoops, where he plays basketball in the summertime. I didn’t know he was gonna be there, but I seen him. I seen him walking towards me and it was kind of like he was walking on air. I had to pinch myself and (was like) ‘Is that Michael?’ And he was like black Jesus to me. I was like, ‘Are you finally here?'”

LeBron’s awesome reaction to meeting MJ proves that even if the entire world tries to pit him against the Bulls legend, at the bottom of his heart, he is still a Jordan fan. And there’s no harm in admitting that, after all, LeBron grew up watching MJ play in the NBA.
LeBron James Says Meeting Michael Jordan Was Like Meeting God
We can spend days comparing the careers of LeBron James and Michael Jordan. But what truly matters is how the two greatest see each other.
Well, in an interview, LeBron James expressed that meeting Jordan was as if he met God in real life.
“It was godly,” James said. “I’ve said that over and over before, but it was like meeting God for the first time. That’s what I felt like as a 16-year-old kid when I met MJ.”
LeBron’s reaction is just yet another proof of the fact that we will never truly see a player impact the game of basketball as Michael Jordan did. Jordan took basketball and the NBA to heights that no one could have thought of, and that’s one of the biggest reasons why Jordan is considered the GOAT.
